NSAC must communicate a lot of
information to a large number of families. To handle this
large task, we use several different forms of
communication. Below are brief descriptions of our most
common sources. Please remember that although we will do our
best to get information out to our members, it is still your
responsibility to use these various resources we have made
available to you.
NSAC
Website www.nsmakos.org
If you are reading this right
now, you are already aware that the North Suburban Aquatic Club
maintains it’s own club website. This website is the
most reliable and most detailed source of information for current
and future members. Information that can be found on the NSAC
website includes:
- Current day’s practice
schedule accurate as of 3:00 PM the day of
- Directions to our various
practice locations
- Frequently updated news articles
detailed events going on within the club
- Top Times lists which include
Team Records, All-Time Top 10 and Seasonal Top 10 times
- Biographies and pictures of the
current Coaching Staff
- Lists of names and contact
information for the current NSAC Board of Directors
- Individual program pages listing
detailed information about each program
- A Parents’ Corner
that contains information useful to both new and veteren swimming
parents
- Other important announcements
located in the Bulletin Board
E-Mail
To save on printing
costs and make communications more efficient, NSAC has
become electronic and depends on e-mail and internet for
primary methods of communication. Our primary and more
effective source is communicating by google groups. You can
sign up for google email on the left side in the pop-up box.
Information sent over e-mail includes:
- Meet
information
- Practice cancelations
or changes
- Monthly
newsletters
- Meet Fee Escrow
statements
- Any club updates and
announcements
Please make sure our
Registrar and Treasurer have your current e-mail address that
you’d like used for club business.
NSAC
Hotline 651.481.1237
The club has a phone
based message system which is updated frequently with the most
accurate information regarding weekly practice schedules, important
announcements and last minute practice cancelations or
changes. Practice schedules often have to be changed due to
conflicts at the facilities or due to unexpected events or
emergencies, so please make sure you check the hotline
regularly. Weekly practice information will be on the hotline
no later than the Sunday before the week begins.
Monthly
Newsletter
In addition to the
other sources of communication utilized by NSAC, the club also puts
out monthly newsletters which contain a variety of
information. Each month the newsletter contains articles from
the Head Coach on various topics related to swimming and the Lead
Program Coaches on what has been going on at their program in the
last month. Board members also submit articles
detailing the work the NSAC Board has been doing over the past
month to improve the club.
Phone
Calls
Changes frequently have
to be made to practice and meet schedules, sometimes at very short
notice. To help ensure that this information gets out to our
members, we will occasionally have our program representatives call
families to deliver important announcements directly.
Phone calls will only be made if changes occur within
twenty-four hours of the changed practice time. It
is not practical to expect the club to call every family when the
practice or meet schedule deviates from the "normal"
schedule. Changes that are made outside of the twenty-four
hour window will be communicated through one of the other means
described above.
