Registration & Fees

How Do I Sign Up?

NSAC has 4 sessions during the year of varying length which roughly follow the calendar seasons.  These sessions generally begin in early September, December, April, and June.  New or returning swimmers can theoretically sign-up at any time, but the club does have specific registration periods before each session starts during which an "Early Bird" discount is offered to those who register before a specified date.

To sign up please click here and follow the instructions or contact our Head Coach, Craig Charlson, at 651.325.8653 or craiger007@msn.com.

Fees

NSAC is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization.  Our philosophy is to have highly-trained, professional staff members running quality programs at competitive rates.  Session fees are therefore fair, reasonable and as low as fiscally possible.  Fees are determined by session based on the length of the session, total practices offered, fair market value, and any other budget considerations for that fiscal year.

In addition to our fees, all NSAC members must be members of USA Swimming or USA Masters Swimming.  This membership carries a non-refundable annual fee that must be renewed at the start of each year, and is paid with the session fees for any new or expired registrants.  All other swimmers will be notified by the registrar when this fee is due based on their membership expiration date.

Checks for registration fees should be mailed directly to the Registar and never given to the on-deck coaching staff.

Multiple Swimmer Discount

Families with multiple swimmers enrolled in NSAC programs are eligable for a partial discount in session fees.  The multiple swimmer discount is as follows:

First Swimmer - No Discount
Second Swimmer - 20% Discount
Third Swimmer - 30% Discount
All Additional Swimmers - 40% Discount

Swimmers will be ranked first, second, third, etc. according to the amount of the session fees, starting with the highest and moving downward.

Registration Forms

All swimmers must have a registration form with pertinent medical information filled out prior to being allowed to participate in any of our programs.  New swimmers considering enrollment will be allowed a "free trial" period of one week to actively participate and be evaluated for a time period of up to one week without payment of fees.  Swimmers utilizing the free trial period must still have a registration form filled out prior to participating in practice.

Registration forms and checks should be mailed directly to the Registrar, and not given to the coaching staff on deck.

Program Refunds

If a new swimmer who joins the club decides to quit, for whatever reason, within the first two weeks from their start date, they are eligable to a 100% refund of all session fees.  Should a new swimmer quit in weeks three to four from their start date, a pro-rated refund will be given.  Returning swimmers are eligable for a pro-rated refund should they decide to quit within the first 4 weeks, but will be subject to a $35 processing fee to be subtracted from the refund amount.

Payment Options / Plans

The only alternative payment plan currently available for all members is a partial payment plan for those with total fees of $200 or during our winter season, as this is typically our longest season and therefore carries the highest fees.  Members have the option of splitting these session fees into 2 equal payments.  The first will be due with with Winter Registration, and the second 1 month later.  A $5 processing fee will be added to each payment should this option be exercised.

Other alternative payment plans may be offered from time to time in the future.

Economic Hardship

Families may qualify for reduced or waived session fees by meeting one of the following conditions.

  1. any family that qualifies for, or is currently enrolled in the Federal Food Stamp program
  2. any family that qualifies for, or is currently enrolled in Medical Assistance (through the Minnesota Health Care Program); or
  3. any family that qualifies for their school district's Reduced Lunch Program

Total discounts will be in accordance with the percentage discount specified by their program.

Necessary documentation to qualify for Economic Hardship will need to be submitted and approved by the Registrar and Treasurer prior to any reduction or waiver of session fees being granted.  Appropriate documentation may include proof of current enrollment in any of the programs outlined above, or a signed affadavit of qualification for #1 and #2 above.
